Dennis McNeil - A Lazy Summer Serenade

Summertime! and the Livin' is Easy

Multi Award Winning Entertainer and Recording Artist, Dennis McNeil returns to Falkirk bringing beautiful music to the cool shade of the heritage gardens.

BroadwayWorld Winner, Dennis McNeil will be giving an Outdoor Summer Concert on San Rafael's beautiful and historic Falkirk Mansion grounds on Sunday evening, August 16 at 5:30 pm. McNeil who has very strong West Marin Roots will be joined by another Marin Mainstay, Ross Gualco, on the keyboard. Together they will serenade the crowd with a very eclectic selection of songs from the Great American Songbook, Broadway, and even some classic Creedence Clearwater, Moody Blues and Elton John. McNeil, who was personal friends with Jerry Garcia and the rest of the band, and a Rex Foundation Recipient, will pay tribute to his friend and the band's farewell concerts with his own Dead selections and stories. But fear not, the evening will be filled with other songs by Leonard Cohen, Van Morrison, Rogers & Hammerstein, Hart, Sammy Cohen, Gershwin, Hal David, Burt Bacharach .... and the list goes on.

Dennis McNeil has been awarded the Best Male Cabaret Artist by BroadwayWorld in both 2011 and 2012 and he was a winner of the Metropolitan Opera Award in 1993. During his colorful and long career, he has serenaded 5 United States Presidents and countless other heads of state and dignitaries, including Charlene, Princess of Monoco and Vincente Fox, former president of Mexico. He has performed with the Dead, Bob Weir and Rat Dog, Lionel Richie, Steve Miller, Michael Feinstein and many other great talents. Much of his family is still in the Nicasio area.

So grab a blanket, bring your favorite chair and your picnic and come early - relax and enjoy the venue. Order a gourmet boxed dinner from "Affair to Remember" catering. Then move to the seating section at 5:30 for the performance.

VIP Dessert reception in the parlor will follow the performance.

The grounds open for your picnicking pleasure at 4:00 pm with boxed dinners (reserved) available on site.
