STEPHANIE BRUCE
Singer/composer/lyricist/arranger/pianist Stephanie Bruce has a repertoire that is very personal. Starting out as a folk style singer/songwriter, she took a long detour through the musical labyrinth of jazz, and discovered its rich vocabulary. Her current concert material is a collection of original songs and arrangements that draw on the sophisticated harmonic and melodic sensibility, and grooves of jazz, and the attention to detail in the lyric that is the centerpiece of contemporary singer/songwriter material. She will be performing material from her three CDs, and several newer tunes that will be featured on her next recording project, due to launch in late 2015. Stephanie will be joined on August 7 by John R. Burr/piano, Fred Randolph/bass, and Bryan Bowman/drums.
