MICHELINE VAN HAUTEM - "LA MUSIQUE"
Micheline Van Hautem (Belgium) will perform one night only in Manhattan, singing her award winning renditions of Jacques Brel and Edith Piaf. Special guest is fabulous cabaret singer Karen Kohler; and after the show, Micheline hands out Neuhaus chocolate (always good to have a Belgian in the house).
Micheline is flanked by The Huxley Vertical Cabaret Nouveau Orchestra. Musical director/ accordionist Seth Bedford writes surprisingly new arrangements to Micheline's French and English chansons. Micheline co-writes with Tim Finn (Crowded House) and collaborates with Bruno Brel (nephew of) and sings from the top of her lungs to sold out houses all over the world: from The Florence Gould Hall, receiving the Back Stage Bistro Award, over Edinburgh, where honored with the Herald Angel Award, to the Sydney Opera House.
Do not miss 'La Musique': Brel, Piaf and Trenet.chansons and cabaret!
Then she tore Au suivant apart by way of a curtain-raiser for a stunning Amsterdam, with Van Hautem's flitting between languages amplifying the hell-on-earth depravity. [John Shand, The Sydney Morning Herald, 2011]
She is, simply, fabulous. [Robert Dawson Scott, The Times London, 5-star review, 2004
