Mairearad and Anna
Mairearad Green and Anna Massie are two of Scotland's most revered folk musicians. Both multi-instrumentalists and award winners, they create "music much more than the sum of their two parts" (Scotsman) in a truly symbiotic synergy. Their prowess is not just(!) confined to the accordion, guitar, Highland bagpipes, fiddle and banjo -in combinations where the traditional instrumental lead and accompaniment confines are well and truly broken; both also sing, whilst sets are linked with winning banter in an effortlessly relaxed stage presence.
