Moon Viewing at Seattle Japanese Garden
For one enchanting evening a year, the Seattle Japanese Garden is magically lit up with lanterns, luminaries, and floating boats on the pond welcoming the arrival of the full moon in Japanese tradition.
Entertainment includes: Instrumental music on the shakuhachi koto by James Jennings, Marcia Takamura, and Chigusa Kitai. Evocative flute music by White Swan Records artist Gary Stroutsos. Poetry of the night sky and a haiku writing contest by Haiku Northwest.
Enjoy a special view of the moon with telescopes provided by Seattle Astronomical Society.
Experience a traditional Japanese Tea Ceremony at the Shoseian Teahouse, led by Tankokai. There will be three sessions throughout the evening. Seating is limited--additional ticket charge applies.
Gates open at 6:00pm.
