From Barber to Barbershop: Tribute to 9/11 and Hometown Heroes
The Pacific Masterworks Chorus will perform Gabriel Faure's "Requiem."  The concert "From Barber to Barbershop: Tribute to 9/11 and Hometown Heroes", will also feature music celebrating American life by composers recognized as choral masters by the National Endowment for the Arts (NEA). San Jose-based Voices in Harmony will be guest performers singing barbershop and a cappella music.

The chorus is requesting nominations of hometown heroes to be submitted via their website at  The deadline for nominations is May 31, 2011.

Pacific Masterworks Chorus will be singing music by famous American composers Samuel Barber, Leonard Bernstein, William Billings, Aaron Copland, William Dawson, Kirke Mechem, and Randall Thompson.  In 2005, the NEA published a white paper of American choral masterworks and PMC selected most of the repertoire for this concert from this list.  Also performing will be Northern California's premier men's a cappella chorus Voices in Harmony.  Both groups are directed by world renowned choral conductor Dr. Greg Lyne.
