Songs for Sports with the Ladies Day Jazz Trio
The Ladies Day Jazz Trio celebrates the compositions of classic and contemporary jazz women at a fundraising event for GirlSportWorks, which runs athletic programs for girls at 5 schools near Cusco, Peru. The event will take place at Recologie, a vegetarian restaurant, event space, eco-boutique and gallery in the heart of New Rochelle, NY with a focus on sustainability and the community.
MJ Territo, vocals; Linda Presgrave, piano; and Iris Ornig, bass, will play compositions by women jazz greats such as Mary Lou Williams, Peggy Lee, and Melba Liston as well as music by contemporary composers such as Meredith D'Ambrosio and Lorraine Feather, as well as compositions by members of the trio.
A portion of both ticket sales and dinner/drink sales at Recologie (http://recologie.com/) will be donated to GirlSportWorks (http://girlsportworks.org/)
