DCTV Presents Inside the Cutting Room: Editing for Television with Rob Kuhns
Different kinds of television require different approaches to editing, and veteran TV editor Rob Kuhns has done it all. In this master class, learn the intricate post production process necessary to put a compelling story together for the small screen.

Looking both at technicalities and craft, Kuhns will take us through his creative process as it applies to both fiction and non-fiction. Using clips from several television shows that he has edited, Kuhns will discuss topics such as pacing, organizational methods, structuring a scene, creatively using archival footage and photos, working with a composer, and methods to maintain objectivity. He will also explore various approaches to process and style within different kinds of television shows, including the verité documentary, the historical documentary, the dramatic series, and the weekly current affairs series.

Whether you're looking to break into editing for broadcast yourself, or you're a TV-lover wanting to get the inside scoop on how it's all put together, this master class is for you!
