The Durango Chamber Music Academy has been created by 3rd Ave. Arts in conjunction with the Durango Chamber Music Festival to provide the opportunity for young musicians to learn to play chamber music in a comfortable, nurturing setting and to encourage meeting friends with similar interests. In this first year, only stringed instruments are included; in future years, pianists and other instrumentalists will be encouraged to participate.

Who can participate
Any student, ages 7 through 13 (and others on a case-by-case basis), who reads music and meets these minimum performance requirements is welcome to enroll:
Violin: Late Suzuki book 2 (or equivalent)
Viola: Suzuki book 2 (or equivalent)
Cello/Bass: Suzuki book 2 (or equivalent)

Tuition
Tuition for the Academy is $195 if paid by May 27; $225 after May 27. Tuition must accompany the completed registration form. Deadline for receipt of tuition and registration form is June 3. Applications received after June 3 may be accepted if space is available, but are subject to a $25 fee. Upon receiving the application and payment, we will send a confirmation and additional information.
