Jeff Hamilton's fluid style has kept him very much in demand among the jazz elite. With the creative subtlety of Shelly Manne and the powerful swing of his former mentor Philly Joe Jones, Hamilton is a paragon of tasteful interplay. Whether drumming for the Clayton-Hamilton Jazz Orchestra, which he co-leads, or performing with jazz luminaries like Monty Alexander and Diana Krall, Hamilton is the epitome of musicality. There is no doubt who is "in charge" of the groove when Hamilton is behind the drums. His trio, together for over a decade, features Tamir Hendelman on piano and Christopher Luty on bass.
