NEWPORT ARBORETUM WEEK: Children's Movie Event
FREE EVENT
Help celebrate the launch of New England's first citywide arboretum!
As one of our Newport Arboretum Week events, we're screening two time-honored movies for children of all ages: "The Lorax" and the Academy Award winning animated short film, "The Man Who Planted Trees."
'The Lorax' is one of Dr. Suess' most revered fables about a creature who speaks for the trees. Come cheer on the Swomee Swans and Barbaloots, and boo the greedy old Once-ler who is chopping down all the Truffula Trees!
'The Man Who Planted Trees' tells the dramatic story of one shepherd's long and successful singlehanded effort to re-forest a desolate valley in the foothills of the Alps near Provence throughout the first half of the 20th century.
Doors open at 12:30 for a meet-and-greet with The Newport Tree Society. Movie screenings start at 1:00 PM.
FREE EVENT.
