A disconnect exists between the brevity of recorded human history on the one hand, which extends back less than 10,000 years, and the dangerous long-term persistence of the hazards of nuclear waste on the other, which lasts for hundreds of thousands of years. It's a problem that raises interesting questions about how to effectively manage the safe disposal of such materials in order to protect generations into the unimaginable future. This documentary, which a reviewer on IMDb.com likens to "a moody Alain Resnais-style approach to the subject ... as if it were a message to some future species," interviews scientists in Finland and Sweden about the thorny issues involved.
