Continental Guitar Festival
The Monkey is proud to commemorate it's 4th anniversary with two days of performances from some of the world's greatest guitarist. The aptly titled "Continental Guitar Festival" will kick off on April 9th where guitarist/ composer Pietro Russino will perform his trademark "Hypnofolk" style, and release his newest album. Guitarist/video artist and creator Dominic Frasca will be performing works from his multimedia sensation "Fixations", and will also be premiering his new project "Electric Sex" with rock/metal vocalist Daniel Kelly. Italian steel string sensation Pino Foristier will then be presenting his solo works for guitar. Following the three main sets, there will be impromptu performances by Stefano Barone, Tommy Glasshauser and a few very, very special guest guitarists. You do not want to miss this.
The second day of the Continental Guitar Festival will see Brazilian guitar virtuoso Roberto Taufic bring the swinging sounds of Rio to the Monkey stage. Stefano Barone will then bring the audience into a trance like state with his mesmerizing guitar wizardry. Dominic Frasca will then follow, performing a different selection of works from his show "Fixations" then from the night before, and provide another dose of "Electric Sex" with vocalist Daniel Kelly. The show will continue until 11 PM, with performances from Pietro Russino, Pino Foristiere , Zweni Tots and Tommy Glasshuaser. As always the Monkey's complimentary drink bar will be serving a selection of fine beverages both nights, with the opportunity to relax and chat with the artists after the each evening's performances.
