26ème - Festival d'été francophone de Vancouver - 26th
La 26ième édition du Festival d'été francophone de Vancouver se met au diapason de la nouveauté, avec la musique portée par les jeunes artistes, et ceux et celles qui n'ont pas froid aux yeux pour proposer aux vancouvérois des projets nouveaux. Cette fois-ci, les noms à retenir sont Alex Nevsky, Karim Ouellet, Dylan et l'Elixir de Gumbo, pour en nommer quelques-uns.
Les deux premières soirées du Festival, les 18 et 19 juin, s'ouvriront sur deux spectacles de création, et mettront en valeur le talent de 25 artistes, la plupart vancouvérois : les premiers dans un spectacle mis en scène par Samuel Sixto, et les autres, dans un cabaret musical écrit par Pascal Saunier. Quant à notre résidence artistique, cette année, elle résonnera aux sons du jazz manouche, gracieuseté du quatuor montréalais Le Hot Club de ma rue et du duo vancouvérois Sostenuto. The 26th edition of the Festival d'été francophone de Vancouver will also be in tune with the times, with bold and innovative performances of new music brought to us by young artists. This year, the line-up includes names like Alex Nevsky, Karim Ouellet, Dylan et l'Elixir de Gumbo. After all, young up-and-coming artists are the ones who are winning all the awards.
On the first two nights, June 18th and 19th, the Festival will present two original creations that showcase the talent of 25 artists, mostly from Vancouver. The first is a show conceived and produced by Samuel Sixto, and the second, a cabaret composed by Pascal Saunier. As for our artists in residence project, this year, it will bring us a Gypsy jazz fusion performed by the Montreal quartet "Le Hot Club de ma rue" and the Vancouver-based duo Sostenuto. By the way, have you heard the rumour that Carmen Campagne will return this year for the children's program in the 26th Festival d'été? Just another opportunity to stay young at heart and keep up with the latest trends!
