Elemental Strings Benefit Concert
American violinist Elmar Oliveira and pianist Robert Koenig will perform a benefit concert for Elemental Strings on Sunday, May 15 at 2pm at First Presbyterian Church in Santa Monica. The only American violinist to ever win the Gold Medal at Moscow's Tchaikovsky International Competition, Oliveira is one of the greatest American violinists of his generation, whose playing combines impeccable artistry and old-world elegance.
Elmar Oliveira and Robert Koenig share their talents to help raise support for Elemental Strings, a youth orchestra program for fourth and fifth grade string students in the Santa Monica community. The opportunity to hear these commanding musicians in recital is not to be missed!
Elemental Strings is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that provides young string players with the opportunity to develop and strengthen their musical skills and love for music. Through weekly rehearsals and a low student to teacher ratio, students receive musical instruction at the highest level, and develop a strong sense of confidence and accomplishment. For many students, Elemental Strings is their first ensemble experience; the combined focus on orchestral skills and also a unit of chamber music provides students with a strong foundation on which to continue building their musical studies.
Current students attend for free. Alumni can attend for only $10 if you email us at josephine@elementalstrings.com for the discount code. Code is only good for the alumni ticket.
Order your tickets online for a discounted price of $35 for adults and $15 for students. Tickets will also be available at the door for $40 for adults, and $20 for students; checks and cash only.
