CIMMFest 2011: I, Don Giovanni
Award-winning Spanish director Carlos Saura takes on the world of opera with the story of the creation Mozart's masterpiece. When legendary libertine Lorenzo da Ponte is banished from Venice and meets renowned composer Salieri in Vienna, the latter sees an opportunity to hamstring his competition by saddling Mozart with the debauched librettist. Little does he know that he's set the stage for one of the world's greatest musical collaborations, inspired in part by da Ponte's own misadventures.
