Make Mistakes
Attentat is the moniker of Thomas Kamholz, a Denver based DJ/Producer/Promoter. For over a decade Attentat has participated in every aspect of the American electronic music scene. As a DJ he has played some of the more respected events and venues the United States offers, including multiple appearances at The Bunker in New York and an appearance at the Decibel Festival in Seattle. As an early member of and creative director for the Colorado based organization Communikey, Attentat has shown himself to be an integral part of the burgeoning techno scene coming to maturity in the Front Range of Colorado. As a producer, Attentat has released on such labels as Dope Recordings, Wolf + Lamb, Archipel, and Geometricdeck.

Most recently Attentat has decided to put to rest his own imprint Dope Recordings, which he co-founded with friend and fellow producer Roy England back in 2001, in order to focus on a new project: Make Mistakes is a monthly event in Denver focusing on new and interesting Techno & House music in a loft environment. Soon to be a label, the goal behind the Make Mistakes endeavor is to provide a fun and sophisticated dance environment in an effort to create a new techno mecca in the United States. The parties will be documented and the photos, sets, and reviews of the events will be available via the website www.makemistakes.us

Irish born, Ohio raised and Colorado based Steven Dermody grew up in a loving, social environment. A musically inclined lineage, parents, grandparents, globe hopping and an old player piano all had an impact on his influences growing up. The thriving Midwest rave scene took over music duties in the late 90s and since then he has fallen deeper and deeper into his love of sound texture. In regards to Electronic Music: writing, promoting, DJing, producing, collaborating, curating, booty shaking and overall good time seeking make up his resume. A bona fide fan of all pleasant sounds, Steven looks to constantly learn, grow and share the harmony with the world through his lens. Active in the local art and music scene, he holds DJ residencies with the Boulder Museum of Contemporary Art, sound tracking openings and Lululemon Athletica, aiding the flow of live yoga classes.  As a member of Denver's top flight techno crew Make Mistakes, he made his debut alongside Archipel's head honcho Pheek and remains a part of the extended family of the label. In addition to Make Mistakes, Steven works as Artist Management of Boulder based Communikey and is involved in the curative process of the CMKY Festival.

Roy England hails from Los Angeles, California. It was love at first listen, after a friend introduced him to the underground techno scene in the early 90s. And so began his life of DJ-ing, electronic music production, and performance. Shortly after relocating to Boulder, Colorado in 1997, Roy started Dope Productions as an artist collective/ production crew. His reputation for getting hands in the air and booties-a-shakin led to US and Mexican tours, as well as a strong local following. In 2002 Roy founded the Dope Recordings label, along with Thomas Kamholz, to put out their music, as well as to bring local talent into the spotlight. Roy's main techno moniker has been Royale, though his releases appear in various styles; by himself and with friends; under the aliases IWA, Flacker, Broken Radio, Technomicon, The Subterraneans, Love Mafia, Ghost Pirates, and The Cryptophytes. Since then Roy has seen a slew of digital and vinyl releases and continues to push himself as an artist and DJ.

For Joshua Smith, Time for Trees is more often than not a distant dream, as the poor soul behind the name spends much of his time hunched down in front of a glow(er)ing screen, clickering away on sounds or sound related activities. A character who has worn many decorative hats during his life in electronic music, these days he busies himself as an audio artist for video games, one of the fancy lads behind the Make Mistakes dance association and tennis club, and in the studio producing new material for labels such as Archipel and Emote Records, both on his own and with his myriad and talented friends.

As a DJ, he blends a personalized love of techno funk and soul, always finding the balance between the sexy and the playful. As a producer, he attempts to wrangle a plethora of influences; his musical diaspora spewing forth as big-sweatered techno melancholia, and psychedelic, pumping dance floor comedy acts. As a person, he is mostly pleasant.
