Music by Jobim, Baden Powell, Pixinguinha..and more!!... and the opportunity to pay a tribute to the great Brazilian guitarist composer Baden Powell!!
Enjoy an evening and program of subtle Bossa Nova, lively Sambas, rhythmic Choros, romantic Samba-cancao, elegant Valsas Brasileiras (Brazilian waltz) and powerful and dark AfroSambas!!!

Nancy Curtin was raised in a musical family and has been singing all her life. Her interest in jazz began in college, where she studied music and wrote and performed original and jazz compositions. She has always been drawn to a wide variety of world music, and in 1998 she fell in love with the music of Brazil. Nancy's repertoire focuses mainly on the beautiful music of Bossa Nova, mining the deep well of rarely heard songs (sung in Portuguese) to come out of that musically ground-breaking era of Brazilian music. Her live performances also include American jazz standards.

"It was a fortunate set of circumstances that led Nancy Curtin to take on the challenge of learning the Brazilian musical idiom. The Rose City jazz scene is richer for it. She has two great CD's out with a  dynamite band behind her. Nancy's beautiful voice is not to be missed.  Check her out live at your earliest opportunity." KMHD Jazz Radio

ALFREDO MURO (guitarist)
Alfredo Muro shares the joy of his musical talent while performing, composing and teaching throughout International Guitar Festivals, concerts, lectures or coaching/teaching at his Guitar Studio. These three passions provide the basis for the phenomenal success of this musician and his ongoing and constant evolution.

His concerts unfold for audiences as a personal and unique experience of emotional awakening, bringing much more than just strong technical talent to the stage. He brings an intense love for the music he chooses and performs with such great sensitivity and emotion. He has the rare ability to become the music, losing himself in it and enabling the audience to transcend their own experience and share his. While this is evident on his many recordings, it is in live performance where this manifests most strongly.

TOM GRANT (pianist-singer)
master instrumentalist, talented singer and natural entertainer nimbly walks the line between jazz tradition and modern pop. This soft-spoken Oregon native's inspired songwriting produces propulsive R&B grooves, infectious melodic hooks, and stylish ballads with equal ease. He plays jazz piano with the harmonic sophistication and deep sense of swing that only comes from more than four decades on the bandstand. At the same time, his recordings have consistently landed at the top of the New Adult Contemporary (NAC)/Smooth Jazz charts, a genre of music Tom helped pioneer in the mid-80s. As the Pacific Northwest's most renowned musical artist, Tom Grant's career achievements reflect his unique ability to embrace the full spectrum of contemporary music.
