Mighty Music Class
It's a bird...it's a plane...it's...a Mighty Music Maker! An 8-week series, June 9-July 28, Tuesdays, 3:30-4:30
Super musicians ages 4*-6 will enjoy an action packed hour of music making each week--singing, moving and instrument play for young superheroes! We will enhance our mighty musical abilities with songs, games and instrumental exploration including hand percussion, xylophones, kazoos and keyboards and we'll make our own super capes and masks for proper concert attire.
This session is designed for 4*- to 6-year-olds to sing, move, play and create together in a small, mixed-age group setting. (*3.5-year-olds whose nap times do not conflict may also register, but if s/he has not attended previous Musicollaborative courses please call 504-942-7606 for a brief orientation conversation prior to registering.)

ABOUT THE FACILITATOR: Kaya Martínez is a musician~educator dedicated to nurturing creativity and building community through the arts. After more than 14 years of service in the classroom, Ms. Martínez founded Musicollaborative Exploriential Music Learning for All Ages in 2013 to make high quality culturally relevant music education accessible to New Orleans' children and families. Ms. Martínez enjoys holding space for learners of all ages to grow in their understanding in, of and about music and the other arts through a hands-heart-head facilitation style that incorporates exploration, imitation, improvisation and creation. In addition to her masters degree in music education and certification in Orff Schulwerk, Ms. Martínez draws upon a diverse background in both instrumental and vocal music, visual arts and dance to design engaging learning opportunities that dissolve boundaries, stimulate the imagination, and foster collaboration.
