Junior Derby Scrimmage - DO IT FOR 57
10am-2pm
This is an opportunity to play derby for a good cause!
In light of the tragic death of junior roller derby player, Sam Taub aka Casper #57 of the Darlings of Destruction in Michigan, we would like to hold a benefit black and white juniors scrimmage in his honor.
The "Do it for 57" Open Coed Black and White Junior Scrimmage will be open to all scrimmage ready junior roller derby players between 10-17 years old. The cost for each participant is $10 and ALL of the proceeds (minus fees) will be donated to The Trevor Project, a leading national nonprofit organization providing crisis intervention and suicide prevention services to lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and questioning young people ages 13-24.
Black and White Scrimmage
SCHEDULE: (tentative)
10am-11am: Check-in, gear up, warm up, split teams
11am-11:30am: 1st scrimmage
11:30am-11:45am: new teams
11:45am-12:15pm: 2nd scrimmage
12:15pm-12:30pm: new teams
12:30pm-1:00pm: 3rd scrimmage
1:00pm-1:15pm: new teams
1:15-1:45pm: 4th scrimmage
1:45-2pm: gear down and GO HOME!
Teams will constantly be mixed to ensure fair play time and play level.
