Guitar Workshop with Bethany Waickman * Susquehanna Folk (SFMS)
WORKSHOP 4:30 - 6pm
This workshop will be an introduction to Irish-style DADGAD tuning. We'll learn basic chord shapes with an emphasis on backing fiddle tunes. Building on the basic chords, we'll explore alternate voicings, right hand technique, and chord theory. We'll learn to flat-pick some tunes, work out a number of chord possibilities for each, and talk about arranging. Previous experience in DADGAD is not necessary (ie. we'll start by learning how to tune from standard to DADGAD). Please bring a capo.
