Sara Grey & Kieron Means with Linda Schrade & David Kiphuth
This very special concert features two duos, singing separately and combining into a quartet. The mother and son duo of Sara Grey and Kieron Means features the unforgettable, traditional ballad singing of Sara and the passionate, high-lonesome singing of Kieron, along with Sara's five-string banjo and Kieron's spare yet deeply effective guitar playing. They have performed extensively in Britain and the United States, and their repertoire is a treasure trove of American, Irish and Scottish ballads. Husband and wife duo Linda Schrade and David Kiphuth are prominent figures in the Capital District folk scene. David has been a bluegrass banjo player since 1963 and is an outstanding old time singer with a true mountain edge to his voice. Linda's pure, expressive singing has been heard on two award-winning albums for children, and she is an in-demand studio singer, lending her harmonies to recordings by Lui Collins, Cosy Sheridan and several others.
