Aceyalone(bio from MTV.com)
"A founding member of Freestyle Fellowship, Aceyalone played an important role in the evolution of left-field hip-hop on the West Coast during an era when hardcore gangsta rap reigned. Following the dissolution of Freestyle Fellowship, Aceyalone embarked on a solo career that never resulted in enormous success but did allow him to maintain his revered status within the West Coast underground hip-hop scene. He debuted solo on All Balls Don't Bounce (1995) and followed-up with A Book of Human Language (1998). After a three-year absence from the hip-hop scene, he returned in 2001 with Accepted Eclectic, an album released by the Ground Control label, which also re-released his debut album. A new label, Project Blowed, issued Hip Hop and the World We Live In (2002) and Love & Hate (2003), the latter featuring collaborations with El-P and Antipop Consortium. In 2004 Project Blowed secured the rights to All Balls Don't Bounce from Capitol and reissued it with a bonus disc, bringing not only extra music but reviving the album after many years out of print. In 2006, Aceyalone released Magnificent City, a collaboration with underground producer RJD2, as well as Grand Imperial, a limited-edition collection of remixes and other exclusive tracks. His 2007 album, Lightning Strikes, was inspired by reggae and dancehall music. It was produced by Bionik, who was also behind the boards for 2009's The Lonely Ones, an album influenced by Motown, soul, and doo wop. Bionik returned for 2013's Leanin' on Slick, another retro-minded album with Cee Lo Green as special guest." The legend continues.

2Mex(bio from upabove.com)
""One of ten rappers from Urb's Bleeding Edge" Hailing from mid-city Los Angeles, indie-rap heavyweight 2Mex, otherwise known as the SonGodSuns, began building his name at the legendary Good Life Café, which has spawned tons of luminaries such as Freestyle Fellowship, Abstract Rude, and Jurassic 5 to name a few. With too many guest appearances to name and a show schedule that fills up the calendar, 2Mex rides along the jagged edge of hip-hop music with a fearless abandonment. Constantly proving himself as a solo artist and member of the Visionaries, Shape Shifters, and Of Mexican Descent, 2Mex is coined by many as the "hardest working man in underground hip-hop." With his confessional writing style and revolutionary sarcasm, 2Mex has built an enormous buzz throughout the music world, gaining strong support from college radio, receiving video rotation on MTV-2, touring year round, and collecting a loyal legion of followers. He has become a mainstay act amongst deejays, backpackers, punk-rockers, and all music fans alike. While 2Mex has displayed his expressive flair on numerous individual and crew projects, he now presents the long-awaited album under the "SonGodSuns" moniker. In describing the oncoming surge, he says that "My solo work is just about having the freedom to do whatever I want. It's about not being afraid to admit that groups like "They Might Be Giants" and the "Cure" or "Eels" are what I really listen to. It's me listening to Elliott Smith and trying to re-create that in hip-hop form." In this candid approach, "Over The Counter Culture" is a journal entry into the bleeding heart of the "SonGodSuns.""
