Big Fish the Musical
SSTI, a nationally ranked theatre program, enters its 8th year of bringing professional productions to the Lowcountry. With a unique mission to train high school students in the rigors of working in professional theatre, our program draws aspiring performers and technicians from across the US and internationally to our local area. We offer local theatre audiences a unique opportunity - to see exciting productions of contemporary, family-oriented musicals while supporting and encouraging the development of our next generation of theater talent.
This year, SSTI is coming to Hilton Head Island for the very first time to present the critically acclaimed musical "Big Fish". Based on the book by Daniel Wallace and the hit Tim Burton film, Big Fish centers on the charismatic Edward Bloom, whose impossible stories of his epic adventures frustrate his son Will. As Edward's final chapter approaches, Will embarks on his own journey to find out who his father really is, revealing the man behind the myth, the truth behind the tall tales. This is a story of how a son must find and accept the man his father is.
Big Fish will be performed June 26-28, 30 and July 1-3, 5 at the Seahawk Cultural Center.
