Original 5 Octane Member Reunion with Special Guest Jordan Demarest!
Don't miss your chance to see a piece of Philadelphia's rock music history come back to life as the original members of OCTANE reunite for a reunion show on February 12, 2011!
On line ticket sales will close 24 hours prior to the start of the event. Tickets will be available at the door for an additional fee.
Octane originally formed when five Philadelphia musicians abandoned their own steady gigs for a chance to become part of a band that embodied all that was missing from music. They continuously broke the mold of traditional "rock bands," providing a no-frills, no-nonsense, rock 'n roll sound that was reminiscent of the metal acts of yesteryear.
The original members of the group bring back with them their immense talent and experience. Brian Bortnick, who provided vocals and played guitar, was born and raised in Philadelphia. He has spent his life living out his dreams of writing music and performing. Brian Quinn, on guitar, was a vital member of Octane from 2000-2005.
Early in life, at the suggestion of his father, Greg Tripp took up the guitar that he would later play in Octane. On drums and back-up vocals was Bob Pirylis Jr. who was born with the drumming vibe in his blood. Joe "Bass" Berndt, on Bass of course, began playing at age 14. He loves playing "on stages that [he] remembers [his] favorite bands playing on [when he was] a kid". Special guest, Jordan Demarest, from Delaware, began music classes at a young age and, in Octane, Jordan sang back-up vocals and played guitar.
The band shared the stage with such notable artists as Sevendust, Fuel, Disturbed, Chevelle, Taproot, Days of the New, Judas Priest, Kid Rock, Sinch, Mudvayne, 3 Doors Down, Slash's Snakepit, Earshot, Nonpoint, Gene Simmons, and Constantine Maroulis. Octane's music has also touched thousands of people in the industry's biggest markets.
The band headlined two sold out shows at the Theatre of Living Arts in Philadelphia and was voted #1 Unsigned Band in a Y-100 (WPLY) Listeners' Poll in 2004 and 2005. They won Best Original Band and Best Original CD in 2003 and 2004 with the album When All is Said and Done at the Philadelphia Music Awards. When All is Said and Done was released independently and has sold over 20,000 copies. The radio hit song, I For One, had over 1,500 spins on 94.1 WYSP FM (a record number for an unsigned artist). A second single, Gasoline, received over 1,000 spins and was also featured on The Dale Earnhardt Jr. / Budweiser NASCAR Year in Review DVD. Five of Octane's tracks were on the Greg Hastings Tournament Paintball video game soundtrack. Also, the song Enemy from the album Rise Up was chosen as the number 74 song of the decade by ModernRock.com.
