She is that rare artist who can sweep you away with her captivating sound, a true jazz singer in the manner of Sarah Vaughan, Shirley Horn, and Carmen McRae. Roy Haynes exclaimed after Mann performed with his trio, "Great singer, great feel! I haven't heard anyone like Janis in years... Janis has shared the stage with jazz legends Diane Schuur, Roy Haynes, Jack Sheldon, and Don Lanphere. Her trio is composed of LA's finest jazz musicians, all of whom have equally impressive musical credits in their own right.
