Write Or Die Poetry Slam Presented by Bianca Spriggs & Hosted by The Raven House

Come help bring National Poetry Month to a close by celebrating local and regional poets who will compete for first, second, and third place cash prizes in an elimination round poetry slam. This fast-paced event will offer spectators an opportunity to cheer on the spellbinding power of poetry delivered by seasoned spoken word artists. If you've never been to a poetry slam, this event is not for the faint of ears. Slam poets take no prisoners and cover controversial topics without the benefit of props, costumes, instruments. All they need are three minutes and your undivided attention. Special guest, Trinidadian poet, Roger Bonair-Agard, who has appeared on HBO's Def Poetry Jam and is a multiple time National Poetry Slam winner, will feature and serve as celebrity judge. A full spread of appetizers will be provided, please feel free to bring a beverage of your choice to enjoy.
