Noir City Closing Weekend Party
17th Annual Film Noir Festival Closing Weekend Party with a Screening of THE GUILTY

Presented by the American Cinematheque in collaboration with the Film Noir Foundation and The Kitchen For Exploring Foods. Beverage sponsors: Bogart's Real English Gin and Quady Winery's Vya vermouth.

Cancel that jewelry story heist and the visit to your bookie. You can postpone the kidnapping and the extortion phone calls too. Get paroled, whatever it takes - because we need you to be part of our racket on Saturday, April 18th. Instead of getting weepy when our travels in Noir City come to the end, we're celebrating the close of our 17th annual series of Film Noir (on the big screen) at the Egyptian Theatre! Pull the brim of your fedora down low over your face and jump on the Red Car to join a bevy of other shady characters for a celebration. Following the film, exit the theater auditorium and arrive in Noir City!

PARTY TIMELINE
6:15 PM Swing Dance Lesson with Rusty & Ted
7:00 PM: Screening + Introduction of THE GUILTY (info below).
8:45 PM: Dinner is served, bar opens & entertainment begins. Party till midnight!
Our Box Office will be open until 9 PM for latecomers.

FILM
Introduction to the film by Eddie Muller of the Film Noir Foundation.

Brand New 35mm Restoration!
THE GUILTY
1947, Monogram Pictures, 71 min, USA, Dir: John Reinhardt
Two war buddies (Don Castle and Wally Cassel) fall for twin sisters (both played by Bonita Granville). When one sister turns up dead, the boys are dogged by a suspicious police inspector (Regis Toomey). Working with only three sets and virtually no budget, director Reinhardt and DP Henry Sharp evoke the dreadful, dead-of-night ambiance that was the domain of prolific noir scribe Cornell Woolrich. NOT ON DVD. 35mm restored print courtesy of the UCLA Film & Television Archive. Restoration funding provided by the Film Noir Foundation.

DRINKS
Drink tickets included in your admission can be redeemed for sponsored drinks (wine, gin, vermouth or whiskey), as well as non-alcoholic options. There will also be a full cash bar if something else strikes your fancy!

DINNER
Be sure to purchase a ticket that includes dinner admission if you want to enjoy retro American fare courtesy of The Kitchen for Exploring Foods!

Crunchy Chopped Salad - Romaine Lettuce, Tomatoes, Green Onions, Red Chili, Avocado, Persian Cucumber, Shell Beans, Parsley and Garlic Lemon Dressing

ENTERTAINMENT
Shuffle with a dame or sailor to the rhythms of the Dean Mora Swingtet and the sweetest canary you'll ever hear tweet.
Take photos with the vintage police car and 1941 classic car we'll have in the courtyard!

Be sure to keep your fingers out of other people's pockets - we'll have the Los Angeles Vintage Coppers on patrol! Don't let them catch you when they raid the Victory Variety Hour burlesque show!

Try your luck at the casino and take in a comedy routine from Diani & Devine.

For the gals, enjoy vintage hair styling by Sandra D and vintage make up tips & lipstick touch-ups from Besame Cosmetics.

For the fellows, sit down for classic straight razor shaves done with three hot towels (just like Mickey Cohen used to get!) from Sweeney Todd's Barber Shop.

ATTIRE
Step into Noir City in vintage 1930s, 40s or 50s attire! Come as a femme fatale, gumshoe, gun moll or mobster (or come as you are - no special attire required).

PRIZES
All attendees are eligible to enter drawings for fabulous prizes, including meals at Sadie's Kitchen & Lounge, Miceli's, Musso & Frank Grill and Fabiolus Cucina, tickets to the Hollywoodland Murder mystery dinner, Pasadena Playhouse, and Murder For Two at the Geffen Playhouse, and gift certificates for men's haircut & shave services at Sweeney Todd's Barber Shop. Visit the casino to get lucky with more drawing tickets and more chances to win!
