Spring Forward, Think Back...at the Rhode Island Historical Society
This year the Rhode Island Historical Society will be celebrating the Golden Age of Radio in Rhode Island. Rhode Islanders weren't just enchanted by this new technology they were innovators. And they were not just listening passively they were making history.
Our connections to radio continue to this day. It is a part of all of our lives.
On Saturday, May 9, steeped in the glow of nostalgia, join us for:
- a sneak preview of our new Rhode Island Radio exhibit, including pieces from two amazing private collections;
- music to transport us back to the Golden Age;
- delicious refreshments from local restaurants, including a historic recipe from the RIHS collections for "telephone cake" with "radio frosting"!
