Event
2nd Annual "A Bastyrian Winter Madrigal Feast" and Fundraiser for the Bastyr University Arts Fund
Share music, food and goodwill to celebrate the winter holiday season with Bastyr University Chamber Choir "Musica Medica" directed by Linda Phelps. This is a theatrical dinner concert set in the Medieval-Renaissance period when madrigal singing was popular in England. Performers will wear period costumes and perform mostly period music. The evening will have a uniquely Bastyrian flare to include faeries, poi juggling, and belly dancing. Food will be served with a flourish of brass fanfare. During dinner, Musica Medica will perform madrigals and holiday music in Bastyr's acoustically marvelous chapel, and other performers will entertain as well. After dessert, the audience will be invited to join in a sing-along of holiday carols.
Bastyr University President, Dr. Daniel K. Church, PhD, and his wife will preside as King and Queen. Musica Medica will be the Royal Court. For a premium ticket price, a limited number of guests may dine at the King's table with Dr. Church.
