GASLAND Documentary Screening
"When filmmaker Josh Fox is asked to lease his land for drilling, he embarks on a cross-country odyssey uncovering a trail of secrets, lies, and contamination." In his film GASLAND, Fox travels across the United States documenting the stories of those affected by the largest domestic gas drilling catastrophe in history. Also known as 'fracking', the effects of this "Saudi Arabia of natural gas" takes Fox and his team through a story from sink water exploding to brain lesions threatening a persons life. "Part verite travelogue, part expose, part mystery, part bluegrass banjo meltdown, part showdown," GASLAND is a real life Erin Brockovich. Your mouth will drop, your stomach will turn, and you will be unable to see this world through the same rose colored lenses.
