Regional Roots The Birth and Evolution of Detroit and Its People
Covering 300 years of history, this film uses the immigrant experience as an introduction to the diverse landscape of Detroit. From the earliest French and German settlers to today's growing communities, immigrants continue to shape the region in pursuit of the American Dream. The project includes historic moving images and photos from multiple museum and library collections. The many interviews include Detroit Mayor Dave Bing, Judge Paul Borman, Brian Dunnigan, Maha Freij, Professor George Galster, Lou Glazer, Kurt Metzger, Stan Ovshinsky, Ozzie Rivera, Mike Smith, Shirley Stancato and Sook Park Wilkinson.
