Durango Choral Society presents "Ancient to Modern: Masterpieces for Choir and Organ"
This beautiful concert will feature our choirs with organ, played by the Durango Choral Society's own C. Scott Hagler. The major work on the program is French composer Maurice Durufle's magnificent Requiem, based on Gregorian Chant overlaid with rich, lush harmonies and an unforgettable dialogue between choir and organ. In addition, the Durango Women's Choir will perform Chant by Hildegard Von Bingen and Sergei Rachmaninoff. This will be the first performance of Durufe's Requiem in Durango, and this rare event is not to be missed by any lover of beautiful, significant choral music.
