Tale of Existence
In 'Tale of Existence', two gay Palestinian Jerusalemites share their extraordinary stories. From teenage discovery of sexual orientation to the subsequent challenges of self-acceptance and family rejection, the men tell their daring stories in the dark shadows of the camera set.
The String
It's hard to keep a secret, especially when you live with your mother. Malik had been enjoying life in France, working as an architect and casually hooking up with other men. But when he returns to his mother in Tunisia after his father's death, the lie about his sexuality becomes harder to keep. An ill-timed tryst with attractive handyman Bilal ends terribly for Malik, who is finally discovered by his mother. Class struggle and culture clash are handled with nuance, sensitivity and affirmation.
