SINGLE-SESSION PROGRAM - Our Impact: Why Our Choices Matter (K-5th grades)
Nature can decompose some matter quickly. Sometimes human-produced garbage is slow to integrate back into natural systems. Use interactive games to help discover where some easily recognizable products come from and how they travel through the waste stream. You may even know some from your own everyday garbage. Referencing the work of several local contemporary artists who illustrate the cycles of decomposition and reuse, students consider how contemporary art can help change our perspective on waste-the ways in which we can reduce, reuse and recycle trash and what the students themselves can do to help share these new perspectives.
