Symphony Parnassus 2014-2015 Spring Concert
".. the best of the Bay Area's community musicians." - Michael Tilson Thomas
Continuing the orchestra's 25th anniversary season, Music Director & renowned principal bassoonist of SF Symphony Stephen Paulson conducts a program featuring:
Tchaikovsky's Polonaise and Waltz from "Eugene Onegin"
Shostakovish Cello Concerto No. 1 in E-flat, Op.107, featuring gifted prodigy soloist Jeremy Tai. This concerto was composed for Rostopovich, who memorized it completely in 4 days prior to the breathtaking 1959 premiere.
Beethoven's Fourth Symphony in B-flat, Op.60 Usually overlooked among "Beethoven's greatest hits," the 4th presents some of the composer's most expressive rhetoric, along with a fair degree of his wit.
