The PMI Honolulu, Hawaii Chapter's Monthly Meeting topic is entitled, "Fuel Supply Diversification in Hawaii"
Joseph Boivin, Jr. oversees new market development and corporate relations. His business development responsibilities include leading Hawaii Gas' liquefied natural gas (LNG) initiative, a key strategic component to further diversify fuel supply and provide clean, cost-effective and reliable gas energy; deploy gas fueled technologies in existing and new markets to reduce costs and increase efficiency at customer locations; and develop renewable natural gas (RNG) resources. His corporate affairs responsibilities include government relations and legislative affairs.
His leadership background encompasses technical expertise and strategic planning and execution, and his work has been instrumental in aligning the Company with public policy to expand the use of clean and renewable gas energy in Hawaii.

------------------- Speaker Bio ------------------- Joseph Boivin, Jr. is the Senior Vice President of Business Development & Corporate Affairs at Hawai'i Gas. Prior to joining Hawaii Gas in 2009, he led Booz Allen Hamilton's Economic and Business Analysis Team for the Pacific Region focusing on strategic planning, cost estimating and budgeting, financial analysis and project management. Prior to this position, he co-founded a technology company in Washington DC, was a Research Staff Member at the Institute for Defense Analyses in Virginia, and worked as a Manufacturing Engineer at Northrop Grumman in Texas. He also served four years in the United State Air Force as an airframe and jet engine mechanic.
Boivin holds a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering and Master of Business Administration in Finance from the University of Arkansas. He serves on the Board of Directors for the Legal Aid Society of Hawai`i and Hawai`i Renewable Energy Alliance, and is an active member of the Hawai`i Energy Policy Forum. He is also a certified Project Management Professional (PMP).
