Tom Rush
Emerging from the early Sixties Boston/Cambridge folk scene as a folk-blues singer and guitarist, he was a leader in the Sixties/Seventies progression from performing traditional folk and blues to coupling folk and electricity into folk-rock, then to singing original compositions and outstanding songs by temporarily obscure young singer-songwriters. His 1968 album The Circle Game, was singled out by Rolling Stone as the record that ushered in the singer-songwriter era with its debut of songs by Joni Mitchell, Jackson Browne and James Taylor before they had released any albums themselves.
His distinctive guitar style, wry humor and warm, expressive voice have made him both a legend and a lure to audiences around the world. His shows offer a musical celebration...a journey into the tradition and spectrum of what music has been, can be, and will become.
