SMACKDOWN! The 24 Hour Musical Contest
SMACKDOWN! The 24 Hour Musical Contest is an extraordinary event where talented teams of performance artists, writers and musicians are given 24 hours to write, stage and perform a musical from scratch. Teams will be given a piano and a rehearsal room and a few 'surprise' elements they must incorporate into their creation. At stake are prizes, bragging rights and the grand prize of $500 with a commitment from Awkward Stage Productions to develop the winning musical! A panel of local theater notables will be the judge!
AND YOU CAN WATCH! At the end of the 24 hours there will be a couple of hours for tech rehearsals, and then the world premieres begin. You can watch just the show OR you can watch the teams writing, creating, rehearsing, possibly disagreeing or talking smack, but definitely not sleeping for a 2 hour window or anytime over the full 24!

You can buy them 'power-ups' to fuel the process (coffee, food, pillows, advantages and more!) or even a couple of 'power-downs' to use against their competitors the competition is fierce! So find your Girl on Fire and watch her fly! (Please note, no girls will actually be set on fire for this event).
