"One Night in Brazil"
An adventurous, electrifying evening of Brazilian music, featuring Angelo Metz and Friends, One Night in Brazil brings the culture of Brazil right into your seat. This evening includes singing, dancing and Angelo's virtuosic guitar styling.
Angelo Metz was born in Montenegro, Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil. In 1997 Angelo moved to Los Angeles to pursue a Masters degree in the Studio/Jazz guitar program at USC. After completing his Masters, Angelo received an invitation back, with scholarship, to complete his Doctoral degree in Studio/Jazz guitar.
Angelo's two solo CD's, "Coming" and "Live at USC", focus on Angelo's writing prowess while showcasing his virtuosity and homage to American masters like Coltrane and Parker mixed with the Brazilian influences of Hermeto Pascoal. Both projects show a passionate man in control of his vision.
When Angelo Metz isn't on the road or recording, he can be found looking for the best surf in Southland. But his brand of Jazz is anything but watered down. His Brazilian heritage shines through and allows the listener a "mini-vacation" to the land of Brazil. Angelo's music has been embraced throughout South America, North America, and Europe. He has played over 900 live shows and has ranked number one and two on MP3.com Latin Jazz charts where he has logged over 10,000 downloads.
