Cabaret Fundraiser - Shannon Forsell: The Nearness of You, a tribute to Hoagy Carmichael
Indiana native and managing director of The Cabaret, Shannon Forsell, presents a tribute to one of the great composers of popular song, Indiana's own Hoagy Carmichael ("The Nearness of You," "Stardust," "Georgia On My Mind"). The show will kick-off the release of Shannon's new CD, "The Nearness of You," featuring songs from "The Hoagy Carmichael Songbook," and be held in The Cabaret's new home, the Crystal Terrace at the Columbia Club, where Carmichael played almost nightly from 1928-1929 with the Columbia Club Orchestra. All proceeds benefit The Cabaret at The Columbia Club. All audience members will receive a complementary copy of the CD following the performance.
