Sno-King Community Chorale presents Musica Da Coro: "Pax in Tellus"
The 100+ voice Sno-King Community Chorale and SKCC Orchestra present the Requiem in D Minor by Gabriel Faure, with featured soloists Melanie Hingson, soprano and Tom Hingson, baritone. Also featured, guest artists Cascade Percussion Ensemble under direction of Ian Alvarez will join SKCC to perform Return to Innocence by David Gillingham.
The Fauré Requiem is a work that has withstood variety of interpretation in the several guises in which it has been rendered. It almost always emerges unscathed, and one always seems to find a good reason why any given interpretation gives much pleasure. It is the genius of Fauré that created a work of such beauty which hides its knowing sophistication under a humble cloak of utter simplicity. The featured soloists, singers with the Seattle Opera, will provide an added level of artistry for the audience. A complete description may be found at:

Return to Innocence by David R. Gillingham is scored for SATB choir and percussion ensemble. From the opening "mysterious" section, through the fiery middle sections to the final request to "return to innocence", this work will make immediate connections and impact with the audience!
