EXPATRIATE combines dialogue, dream sequences, dance and live music for an exploration of race, friendship, addiction, art and infamy. Claudie and Alphine are African-American performing artists who flee to Europe to realize their starved American dreams. But as they soon discover, being the 'exotics' abroad may be a high price to pay for stardom.
