We're proud to announce THE INAUGURAL GREAT MIDWEST UKEFEST! Part curated showcase and part open-mic, this all day fest expands on our beloved Silvies cabaret show, allowing everyone to participate while showcasing several of our regular acts in full sets.
Suffering as we do from delusions of grandeur and overblown ambition, we've chosen a name that we hope to grow into over the years, but for the first time out, our focus will be on the incredible talent to be found right here in the four-string capitol of the Midwest, our beloved Chicago!
In addition to 8 hours of live uke music there will be BBQ and libations in a lovely outdoor beer garden, raffle items, and much more!
Proceeds from the event will benefit The Intonation Music Workshop, a local non-profit that empowers children to become rock stars on every stage in life through innovative music education.
All are welcome to perform during the afternoon open-mic portion of the show beginning at 2:00 PM.
In the evening, enjoy full sets from Cabaret regulars Lanialoha Lee, Heavy Boxes, Luke Bailey, Heather Smith, Jeffrey Weisfeld Combo, Sure-Bet Quartet, Jeff & Laura, and Vic Miguel!
Interested acts for the open-mic should RSVP to ukechicago@gmail.com. RSVP early as space will be filled on a first come-first served basis!
