Guitars & Friends
Featuring J D Joyner, David Mull, Mike Clark, Mitch Miles, Randy Davis, & Sandy Alvin.
Guitars and Friends is a unique musical group comprised of "A-list" musicians from eastern North Carolina. The core group of the band has been together for several years and is known for outstanding talent, great entertainment value, and excellent camaraderie both on and off stage. They have been performed at the Down East Festival of the Arts, The Nashville Blooming Festival, and the Nash County Arts Council ("Nash Arts"). In addition, they can be found at a variety of private, public, and corporate venues. Boddie Noel Corporation has chosen Guitars and Friends to provide entertainment at several of their company functions.
J D Joyner is the musical director of the band and is an outstanding guitarist. Martin Guitars, one of the foremost guitar makers in the world, values J D as an endorser of their products. David Mull plays bass and banjo and provides support vocals. David is a seasoned musician with years of performance under his belt. Randy Davis is a talented percussionist who has amazing touch and meter. Along with their quality vocals, Mitch Miles and Sandy Alvin are excellent song stylists. Together these musicians form a tight knit group that is at home on the stage or in the studio.
The "Friends" aspect of Guitars and Friends helps make them truly unique. Depending upon the venue, they often invite other talented musical friends to come alongside as guests. Because of this ingredient, no two Guitars & Friends performances are ever the same. In addition, Guitars and Friends perform music from a wide variety of genres. Whether a virtuoso jazz piece from J D Joyner, a lively banjo rendering from David Mull, or a tasteful percussion solo from Randy Davis you will be entertained. If not, please call 911 immediately!
