If Mountains Could Speak: From the Summit of Mt. Everest
Sunday afternoon, August 1 from 3:30 to 5:30, you are invited to share in the adventure as Chris Grubb describes how he reached the summit of the highest mountain on earth. Proceeds will benefit children served by World Vision and Children's Relief Nursery.
Tickets: $50 Adult includes one free youth admission ($40 is tax deductible) $10 Youth under 21
In 2005, alone in the blackness of night on the highest mountain in the world, Chris Grubb made the toughest decision of his life. He turned around on the final push to the summit of Mt. Everest. For the next four years he would question that decision. Had he pushed hard enough? When he returned to climb Everest again in Spring 2009, he found the answer. This time he would succeed. What made the difference? How does a kid who grew up playing soccer and video games get inspired to climb the tallest mountains in the world?
Chris will share his adventure with you on Sunday afternoon, August 1, 2010, from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. at a convenient venue in Portland (to abide by the guidelines of our venue, the location details will be given to you after you purchase your ticket -- or you can email us for more information at cwwov@cwwov.org). Chris has climbed six of the "Seven Summits" with plans to climb the seventh in December. This will be his first speaking engagement in the city where he grew up.
Your $50 ticket ($40 is tax deductible) will admit one adult and one free young person (under 21) to hear Chris speak, watch a spectacular multi-media presentation, and enjoy light refreshments. Additional youth tickets are available for $10 each.
All proceeds benefit World Vision and Children's Relief Nursery.
