The Chris Klaxton Group with Steve Grover
Seacoast musician Chris Klaxton brings a new quartet to the Dance Hall: Klaxton on trumpet, Scott Kiefner on bass, Steve Grover on drums, and Tony Gaboury on guitar.
Grover and Gaboury, long time associates from the Augusta and Portland areas respectively, have performed and taught throughout New England for decades. They are the cream of the crop and bring clear, incisive, and well executed sounds to the table. Klaxton's blithe and emotive trumpet playing, juxtaposed with a crystal clear, swinging, and precise rhythm section, should make for an interesting evening of original music and jazz standards.
