BOBBITO GARCIA aka Kool Bob Love
One of hip hop's premier voices, Mr. Bobbito Garcia a.k.a. Kool Bob Love a.k.a. Mr. Hip Hop Legendary, touches down with Top Ten Social in May. The brother's done everything from crates, to radio, to tv, to crossovers.
We're selling tickets for this one, as the brother's roots run deep. Some of you may have seen him at The New Parrish grand opening. Well, he's back..
After playing pro ball in Puerto Rico and graduating from Wesleyan University (CT) in '88, he began working at Def Jam Records. He met DJ Stretch Armstrong there, and in '90 the two started an on-air program at WKCR 89.9FM. By '98, the Source Magazine voted it the "Best Hip Hop Radio Show of All Time." The duo introduced the world to unsigned acts like Nas, Jay Z, Biggie Smalls, Big Pun, Wu-Tang, Mobb Deep, and many others that would go on to change the face of the industry.

My Soul, set for release on May 25, 2010, marks Leela James' debut on Stax Records, a division of Concord Music Group. The move to Stax - the legendary home of some of the greatest soul and R&B artists of the past half-century - is a fitting destination for a vocalist who has committed herself to preserving the soul tradition.
The new album comes on the heels of high praise from soultracks.com, the online source for all things soul and R&B, who recently bestowed a 2009 Readers' Choice Awards to James in the category of Female Vocalist of the Year. Indeed, James has come to own the music that has inspired her since her teenage years. Her commanding live performances have become can't-miss thrillers, placing her among today's most electrifying international concert draws.

CARLY IVAN GARCIA
In the past few years, Garcia's work has been shown in numerous gallery solo shows around California and has been included in countless group shows all over the West coast of the United States. In December 2009 Garcia's work was exhibited in Miami, Florida during Art Basel. He was featured in a group show for international emerging artists and also collaborated with Graffiti Gone Global to create a large scale installation that received extensive media coverage.
Paying homage to his pop icon appeal is Garcia's upcoming media spotlight. Ten of his paintings, created as if "he were obsessed with pigeons," are the focus pieces in the new feature film Touching Home, starring Ed Harris, due in major theaters this Spring.
