World Sampler: The Americas at Seattle Center
The duo Miho & Diego are joined by Giant Magnet headliners Black Violin and Cimarron. Playing a brand of music that is truly their own and not easily categorized, Miho and Diegos repertoire covers an amazingly wide range of styles with an innovative approach. They play from an extensive catalog of Andean, traditional South American folk, Brazilian, Japanese, jazz and Latin jazz compositions, as well as original compositions. Black Violin is a revolutionary music group that combines an array of violin techniques and DJ skills to produce a signature blend of classical and hip-hop music. Cimmaron plays the festive dance music called joropo, a fiercely virtuosic display of rippling melodies played on harp, bandola and cuatro accompanied by bass, cajon and maracas.
