Ormao Dance Company 20th Anniversary Concert
Ormao Dance Company has been waiting a long time for a season like this one! Come join us for a celebration of 20 years of dance and original choreography April 17 at 8pm and April 18 at 2pm, at the Louisa Performing Arts Center, 21 Broadmoor Avenue.
Director Janet Johnson opens the show with a delicate new work 'Slender Threads' followed by Ila Conoley's 'Four Women' set to the powerful music of jazz singer Nina Simone. Returning guest artist Posy Knight will dance 'Shadow', a haunting solo to the piano music of Poulenc and Debussy, played live by Lauren Ciborowski. Taiwanese guest choreographer Billy Chang's O.R.M.A.O. is an inspiring and emotional personal ode to the company. This ensemble masterpiece breaks the fourth wall, inviting the audience into an inspiring and crazy journey.
